Accountability Counts!

“If you could kick the person in the pants responsible for most of your trouble, you wouldn’t sit for a month.” – Theodore Roosevelt

Many types of accountability branch out into different areas of our life. Imagine accountability as a tree with many branches, connected to the source of growth and expansion, starting and ending with you. Your thought, feelings and actions count. Why? They nourish the roots of your being. Where do you want that growth to take you? Yes, we grow in different directions from each other, but our roots are one.

Being responsible enough to be accountable is where the rubber meets the road, as the old saying goes. The moment of truth. How do you intend to carry your intentions out? Are they harmless to self and others? Follow it through in your mind to completion before you act.  When you do this people begin to count on your accountability ability, building a strong foundation of trust.

Many people do not take responsibility for what they create. When life becomes less than desirable, (and it will) blaming others becomes a habit. Not being accountable keeps people in the school of hard knocks, putting up roadblocks to their success in life.

Create conditions in which your life demonstrates effectively the wise choices you make.  Take response-ability keeping in mind that what you do today creates your tomorrows. Hold yourself accountable for everything you do. Victim or Victorious – Your Choice!
