Courageous Compassion

“And as I’ve gotten older, I’ve had more of a tendency to look for people who live by kindness, tolerance, compassion, a gentler way of looking at things.” – Martin Scorsese

When we do not love ourselves, we lack compassion for others. Plain and simple. Until we learn to love the being we are, the journey ahead will be fraught with strife. I don’t know about you, but I am watching the world around me quickly changing. People are coming together as local and global communities in support of each other and our planet. Compassion is a major factor. We are tired of sitting by while uncompassionate people run our world who do not have our highest good in mind.  I do not see kindness, tolerance, compassion, or a gentler way of looking at things within most of those running the world stage at the highest levels. I do see it in individuals like you and me who want change. We all deserve abundant good, yet we have been programed otherwise.

The Dalai Lama said “Compassion is not religious business, it is human business, it is luxury, it is essential for our own peace and mental stability, it is essential for human survival.”  We are human and we all have concerns about where our little planet is headed. By ignoring what is going on around us that is harmful, we will never be part of the solution. A simple prayer for peace, being active in your community in some way, staying aware and making decisions that are harmless to self and others is a start. Once you take a step into any area of compassion, you will find even more ways to make a difference.

Non-Compassion echoes out into the Universe. Image being a child or adult no one understands or cares about.  There are children who have never been held in loving arms, told they are loved, or had a decent meal. Closing our eyes to what we don’t wish to see doesn’t make these things go away.  The energy of these footprints remain a part of us because we are all connected. Imagine living in someone else’s skin. As you think about your child or a child you know going through such things, isn’t it unbearable to think about?  Now is the time to extend compassion to our fellow man, woman and child, for Mother Nature and her kingdoms. Spread compassion into people’s hearts from yours, get involved in your community which spreads action globally. I see this happening and what a joy it is! Unity and Oneness is the new way forward. Courageous Compassion!
