Love Heals Broken Hearts

love is, the inscription on a typewriter

My friends lost their beloved dog Coco today. With broken hearts they wade through the intense emotions of loss and grief. This thought came to me: This intense love we feel, after the grief passes and if we choose to allow it, sparks a flame inside that can become an inferno of passion and purpose.

The love we feel for those no longer on this earth plane waits to be given direction. Since love is positive, active and needs to be directed through our will and our heart, we now have the opportunity to overcome the challenges we face in loss. We are the embodiment of love. In the expansion of love we find a magnificent outlet for healing. Love heals broken hearts.

As I was thinking of my friends, understanding the pain they are in, I began to think of the loss I had experienced. Both of my children and two brothers in 4 years and my father a few years later. I understand grief from my personal experience and perspective. We all process loss in our own sacred way. I found myself thanking my children, brothers and father for their participation in my life. They gave me the courage to fan that flame inside into an inferno of courageous purpose. Living in courage fills my thoughts, is the message I share with others and the place I live from with a joyful heart.

If I had not experienced such a quick series of loss in my life, I would not be a writer. I would not have met the incredible people who have appeared to love and support me in the next phase of my life. I would not have written my book to inspire courage in others, or had my story appear in several books by other authors. Would I prefer to have my loved one’s in my life? Yes, of course, but I can’t bring them back. They are NOW traveling the expanse of the Universe on their soul journey, just as I am. We cross paths for a time in love and light and then move on. I am grateful for every moment we had together.

“Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.”  Viktor E. Frankl

Life goes on, seasons change, the world continues on it’s timeless journey. Our souls continues to experience the “human experience” with all it’s ups and downs. How we choose to experience it – our choice. Two ways forward. Love or Fear. Let LOVE lead the way and you will find true peace and joy.

To Dori and Scott, Coco lived a JOY-Filled life with you and is now on an exciting sacred journey, carried by wings of love and light. Cody and I send healing love from our hearts to yours.
